After ICE scheduled an 18-year-old Wilbur Cross student for expedited deportation to Guatemala, local attorney Tina Colón-Williams intervened to halt the removal. She secured his return to a New England detention facility, allowing him due process rights and the chance to fight the case before being deported without a hearing.
Tina Colón-Williams, attorney at Esperanza Law, represents the client and describes ICE's expedited removal approach as "part of a new tactic of the current administration" that raises serious questions about access to counsel.
