Ana María Rivera Forastieri, Esq.

Ana María is the Director of Practice Development at Esperanza Attorneys at Law. For the past fifteen years, Ana María has been an organizer supporting local, regional, and national initiatives that challenge immigration detention, deportation, and surveillance. As an organizer, her primary focus has been the growing entanglement of the criminal and immigration systems. Her experience includes strategic planning, legislative and policy advocacy, community defense, research, coalition building, and popular education.  She has co-founded and directed numerous programs and nonprofit organizations.

Ana María holds a Juris Doctor from Tulane University Law School and a Bachelor of Arts from the Universidad de Puerto Rico, Recinto de Río Piedras. She is licensed to practice law in Connecticut. She is fluent in Spanish and English and proficient in French.
